My OVMS arrived; objective is to do bmw i3 support

Hi,

My OVMS box arrived a couple of days ago.  The idea is to implement support for BMW i3.  (Mine is an i3s BEV).

I'm just wanting to get my environment organised - for development it makes sense to me to run my own open-vehicle-server.    Also, I'm in South Africa so both of the public services are a long way away.

So in the docs I see v2 and v3 protocols - the latter being mqtt that I know well.

But it does seem that its v2 that's really being used.

What's the advice?
