We've setup a partnership with a GlobalSIMCard.co.uk - a provider of hassle-free pre-paid SIMs with GPRS data, usable around the world. Clicking the above link, or entering "OVMS" as the code during checkout, will support the OVMS project.
It has been a while, so we thought we'd give you an update on the OVMS base v2 hardware.
Short story is that it has been a lot harder than we expected, but we're finally there. The final prototype had a few minor fixes to make, but is now working perfectly, and we are ready to go.
The factory is now making the first batch of v2 base hardware for us. We should have this ready in 10 to 14 days. We'll need just a few days to test it, once we get it, then ready to go out to users.
We've come to the end of our initial batch of boards, and there are significant minimum-order-quantities for things like circuit boards, so we are taking the opportunity to switch to hardware v2.0.
We're pleased to say that OVMS End-User firmware 1.2.2 has now been declared stable and will be provided with all new units shipping from next week onwards.
The new firmware brings with it:
- Issue #31 - Performance mode bug fix and kludgy workaround
- Issue #32 - Bug in net_sms handling CARBITS feature #14
- Tesla Roadster v1.5 tested compatible and supported
The last one says it all. This new firmware adds support for v1.5 Tesla Roadsters.
